FAQ

Q. Why is the Torque Drive head hard to push or why does the brush bar stop on thick carpet or rugs?

A. Thick carpet can create too much resistance. Clear any hair or blockages first, then use a lower suction or power mode if available.

Q. Can a Torque Drive motorhead scratch timber or other hard floors?

A. It can mark a floor if grit or debris is trapped underneath. Keep the wheels, brush bar and base of the head clean before using it on timber or polished floors.

Q. Should I use a Torque Drive head or a Fluffy head if my home is mostly hard floors?

A. Choose Torque Drive if you clean a mix of carpet and hard floors. A Fluffy head is the better choice when most of the home is smooth hard flooring.

Q. Do I need to replace the complete motorhead or only the brush bar?

A. Replace only the brush bar if the head still powers it normally. Replace the complete motorhead if the powered head itself has failed or the head or neck is damaged.

Q. How can I tell whether the fault is in the motorhead, wand or vacuum?

A. If possible, test the motorhead directly on the vacuum without the wand. If it works there, the wand or its electrical connection is likely the problem.

Q. What should I do if long hair or thread wraps around the brush bar?

A. Remove the wrapped hair or thread before using the head again. Check both ends of the brush bar as well as the cleaner-head neck for trapped debris.

Q. Is a loud rattling, grinding or rumbling noise from the motorhead normal?

A. No. Check for trapped debris, hair or a brush bar that is not seated correctly. If the noise remains, the brush bar or motorhead may need replacement.

Q. Will replacing the motorhead fix a Dyson that is pulsing or has weak suction?

A. Not always. Pulsing and weak suction are often caused by blockages or filter issues, so check those before replacing the motorhead.
