How to Replace a Bent End Piece (BEP) on a Vacuum Cleaner Hose

Replacing a Bent End Piece (BEP) on a standard vacuum cleaner hose is simple with the right tools. Please note that this process is not compatible with switch hoses containing wiring.

Tools Required:

• Small flat-blade screwdriver
• Sharp knife

Steps:

1. Remove the Old Handle: Start by releasing the clip ring at the base of the vacuum hose handle. Use a small screwdriver to press the two recessed clips. Once released, unscrew the old cuff by turning it clockwise.

   Tip: If the old cuff is glued or the hose is split, carefully cut the hose behind the cuff using a sharp knife. Ensure the cut is straight.

2. Fit the New Clip Ring: Slide the new clip ring over the end of the hose.

3. Attach the New Adaptor Cuff: Screw the new adaptor cuff onto the hose anticlockwise. Optionally, apply a small amount of contact adhesive about 10mm from the hose end to prevent the cuff from loosening during use. Wipe off excess glue to maintain flexibility.

4. Attach the New BEP: Insert the hose with the new cuff into the bottom of the BEP.

5. Snap the Clip Ring in Place: Push the clip ring against the handle and press until the clips snap securely.
